The Oxford Open Publication Program (OUP) has been launched with an unlimited pool of articles for 2025. Articles published in the subscription model during the period of suspension of the program will be eligible for conversion to the open model (retroactivation). 361 hybrid journals are covered by the program.

List of journals in the OUP publishing program

Note: only hybrid journals that have a “yes” in column D on the list are covered by the program.

The author of an article accepted for publication should fill out the online form according to the publisher’s instructions (note: there is a new version of the instructions provided by the publisher on 15/05/2025) and provide in the form the affiliation in the participating institution, which will then be verified by the publisher. It is recommended that the correspondent author use an email address from the domain of the participating institution, which will facilitate verification.

Retroactivation: authors from institutions covered by the program in 2025, who published their articles in the subscription model during the period of suspension of the program, i.e. January to May 2025, in journals covered by the program, have the opportunity to convert the article to the open access model under the program.

Authors will be contacted by the publisher in this regard. An author who wishes to take advantage of the conversion should confirm this by e-mail to the publisher (the “opt-in” principle).

Information about the publishing program is available on the OUP publisher’s website.
