Elsevier

The open access publishing program resumed on May 20, 2026, with a new pool of 1,084 articles. Articles accepted for publication in 2026 after signing the agreement with Elsevier are eligible for the program, regardless of the date the article was submitted to the journal.

The publisher does not provide for the retroactive activation of articles accepted for publication in 2026 before the program launch.

The agreement covers the publication of a limited number of articles, which are exempt from the Article Processing Charge (APC).

List of Elsevier journals covered by the OA Program

In 2026, the program will cover 1,120 hybrid journals from seven Science Direct thematic collections. Authors publishing in the program are exempt from the Article Processing Charge (APC), which is presented by Elsevier on the Rights and Access form as a 100% discount (see Presentation). Under the agreement, the corresponding author is the sole author, managing the article publication process from submission to acceptance and corresponding with Elsevier on this matter.
