The program launched on May 22, 2026, with a pool of 20 vouchers available per year.

Articles published in the subscription model in LWW hybrid journals in 2026 before the program launch can then be converted to the OA model under the program (“retreat”).

Authors who publish OA articles in 2026 at their own expense before the program launch will not be eligible for reimbursement under the program.

The program covers 255 LWW hybrid journals. The program allows authors of a specified pool of articles accepted for publication in the current year to publish free of charge.

An author who wishes to take advantage of the program should, after receiving acceptance of the article from the editorial board, contact ICM by e-mail at wbnoa@icm.edu.pl sending the first page of the accepted article. ICM will verify the author’s affiliation and its visibility in the article.
