Gold and Green Road

Gold Road – publishing in a scientific journal that provides open access to article content on its website without the need to log in, for free, and under Creative Commons open licences.

Green Road – making the texts of scientific articles available in a repository designated by the Institute. The version of a work that can be made available in a repository (e.g. preprints – texts before peer review and publication in a scientific journal, as well as postprints – published versions of articles that have undergone the peer review process) always depends on the publisher’s policy and consent. In practice, gratis access usually consists of free access to the full content of the publication under the terms of fair use (for personal use, for citation in a scientific publication, etc.).
