NUKAT (open in new tab)

Catalog of collections of Polish scientific libraries, launched University Library in Warsaw, in 2002.

The catalog covers the collections of over 160 Polish scientific and academic libraries, and academic libraries, including libraries of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which have an established cooperation with NUKAT.

The search engine allows users to locate various types of publications: books, journals, cartographic and iconographic documents etc. together with indication of the location (catalog of a particular library).


National Library (Poland) (open in new tab)

Central Catalog of Foreign Periodicals – Collection of information on foreign continuous publications published between 1971-2010, and collected in Polish libraries.

Each resource contains a library siglum (encoded name of the library holding a given journal).

Library of Congress (open in new tab)

The Library of Congress was founded in 1800 in Washington, DC.

It serves as the National Library of the United States. It is the oldest federal cultural institution in the country, and serves as a research organ for Congress.

It contains 18 million catalog records of books, serials, manuscripts, maps, music, recordings, images, and electronic resources.

The National Library of Great Britain was created in 1973, as decided by the British Parliament, from the merger of several institutions, including the British Museum Library, and the Patent Office Library.

The library provides access to the world’s most extensive scholarly collection, which includes over 170 million items, covering artifacts from all eras of written civilization.


WorldCat (open in new tab)

Central catalog, in existence since 2003, uniting the collections of 71,000 collaborating libraries from 112 countries. It contains over 150 million different records (books, digital content, research materials, documents, images, etc.).

The catalog makes it possible to search the collections of many libraries at the same time, and then locate the searched object in a particular institution or database (e.g. NUKAT in Poland).
